I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Adapt to Audience

You ask the grade/ education level of the author, but not that of the intended audience. I have a master's, but write for a newsletter intended for my 6th graders and their families.

  2. Article Usage Quiz

Many times articles are misused. It would be benficial to create a quiz similar to the one on confused words.

  3. Show the total grade (Ex. 88) broken down into specific sections.

If your grade was say 88%, it would give you a breakdown showing for Example.

    Spelling And Grammer 92% A
Word chioce and Vocab. 86% B
Style and Titile Checker 86% B
    --------------------------------------
    Overall Grade 88% B

This would allow students who are dissatisfied with thier grade to see what exactly is bringing up/down the average. Allowing them to Improve specific areas (Word chioce and Vocab. or Style and Titile Checker) to hopefully bring their average from a B to an A (from 88 to least a 90%).

  4. Check for sentence fluidity, if a sentence makes sense, if it's a run-on, if it's passive, parallelism, agreements, tenses, etc!

If you could be like a editor/grader that you have to pay for (but free of course!) that would be AWESOME!!!!!!!

  6. Alter your 'academic level' drop drown such that it would be understood by European anglophones

Either have two drop downs, the first to be USA or Europe and the second, conditioned by the first, to present the grade choices, perhaps in age terms, rather than scholastic achievement. or define the USA terms in ones Europeans will understand.

  7. Word and phrase proximity checker to prevent repitition.

Most people have a slew of language traits they'll unwittingly use in general conversation. This happens (to a lesser extent admittedly) in their written work; cliches, favoured personal phrases and blindness word repetition can denigrate otherwise commendable prose. This, I think, could be remedied with the use of a software algorithm that could scan a written piece, analyse it and report the proximity and overuse of such words and terms.

  18. Brainstorming / Writer's Block Tool

Create tool that suggests additional ideas or further research related to a submitted paper or a given topic. This would be helpful in overcoming writer's block, brainstorming, or extending a paper.

  19. Formatting Lost in Internet Explorer

Paper Rater does a great job catching mistakes and finding plagiarism, but it doesn't keep the formatting of a paper, which is very important for anybody, but especially for students writing term papers. They copy and it takes out all the paragraphs and spaces and blockquotes and makes the text into one huge block of text. It needs to retain the formatting.
